Associate Professor Karen Lamb presents at 46th Annual Conference of the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (ISCB) 2025

Associate Professor Karen Lamb recently presented at the 46th Annual Conference of the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics (ISCB) in Basel, Switzerland. The conference brought together over 900 delegates from around the world.

Karen contributed to the Metascience Session, where she highlighted the importance of developing communication skills in biostatisticians, with a particular focus on negotiation. She also spoke at the Early Career Day, engaging in discussions on the value of mentoring and peer support in building sustainable careers.

Her presentation, “Effective communication strategies for biostatisticians to establish and sustain successful collaboration”, explored practical skills that are often overlooked in traditional training. While many courses emphasise written or oral presentation skills, Karen stressed the importance of day-to-day communication strategies that underpin successful collaborations.

Drawing on examples from her own experience, Karen provided practical tips to help biostatisticians strengthen professional relationships and foster impactful, long-term collaborations.
